The Challenge
In rural South Africa and similar regions, smallholder farms grapple with tough realities: climate-driven droughts and erratic rains, soil degradation from monoculture, volatile commodity markets that squeeze incomes, inefficient use of scarce water and inputs, and logistics challenges that lead to high post-harvest losses. These pressures often keep farms trapped in low-productivity cycles, threatening food security, family livelihoods, and community stability.
Our Holistic Solution
We partnered directly with local farmers to build integrated mixed farming systems — combining crops (maize, vegetables, legumes) with livestock (poultry, goats, or cattle) for natural synergies: manure enriches soil, crop residues feed animals, and diversification spreads risk.
Alongside this, we delivered practical, hands-on support across every area that makes a farm thrive:
